Ayres Hotels | Roofing Standards

Ayres Hotels began construction in early August 2012 on their 21st Southern California location in Fountain Valley, CA.  Construction for the 124-room Ayres Hotel will take approximately 12-16 months to be completed. Roofing Standards was awarded this project by the Olson Company and began roofing in late April 2013.  We will be installing the best of the best on this project – FiberTite KEE, single-ply membrane over the flat roofing sections, and CertainTeed’s Landmark shingles over the pitched roofing sections.  We are currently midway through this project and are expected finish by end of June.

FiberTite Conference | Top 10 Installers Nationwide

I attended the Fibertite platinum contractors counsel meeting in key largo Florida. It was a three day event hosted by Fibertite at the Ocean reef club. It was a gathering of the top ten FiberTite installers of 2012. We discussed some new products they are bringing to market, what fibertite is doing good and what they need improvement on. It was also a time for all the roofing companies from around the country to discuss ideas with one another in a non competitive environment.

Project Notes: Roofing Standards recently completed the installation of a 50 mil FiberTite-XT roofing system for Advance Paper Box Company in Los Angeles, CA. This project was a complete commercial re-roof including: removal/disposal of existing roofs, wood replacement, installation of 1/4″ recover board, and a mechanically fastened  50 mil FiberTite-XT roof membrane. This roof membrane is part of FiberTite’s Extra-Tough family of membranes. A 50 mil FiberTite-XT membrane typically exceeds the physical properties and performance characteristics of 90-mil competitive membranes.

Project Notes: Roofing Standards recently completed installing 9,000 square feet of 36 mil Fibertite (KEE) roof membrane, over the newly built Starbucks Costa Mesa in Orange County, CA. Fibertite is the ideal roof membrane for restaurants and other uniquely challenging roof environments that require a roof system be flexible and protective even under the most challenging of conditions. FiberTite membranes are able to handle the many roof penetrations, equipment, exposure to oil and grease, ponding water, and fatty acids that are typical of restaurant roofs. Roofing Standards highly recommends Fibertite roofing systems for any low-pitch roofing, but over restaurant or food processing facilities you would be hard pressed to find a better performing roof system.

Next a 1/4″ recover board was mechanically fastened over the existing BUR membrane creating a suitable substrate.  Lastly, we installed a 36 mil FiberTite roof system per 15yr NDL specifications.

Roofing Standards finished this project on time and budget for Bank of America San Diego.
